Time spent:
Hard to say, I was taking LSD.........

Been getting the itch to solder……..better than the last time I had “The Itch”.
Going to soak all of the PE in vinegar to burnish it……..can’t seem to locate a burnishing compound here in the states…..I’m thinking this may be the way to go because I don’t want any shiny metal showing up in those bedsprings and I only want to give them a kiss of paint…

thanks Hunter, unfortunately it, the Photo Etch Tarnishing Liquid (AKI 174) is out of stock from my usual purveyor (Scale Hobbyist); AK Interactive USA is in some sort of legal limbo and none of my other sources carry it...........if you have any suggestions I'd be appreciative.........I was wondering if the AK Interactive Metal Burnishing Fluid (AK 159) made for Fruil tracks would work.......THAT is in stock........
In the meantime, I've got some test PE immersed in soldering flux
Thanks,
Sincerely WF

My local hobbyshop either has it or can get it 🙂 and I think it can let me get back to you about the tracks and I can get it for you if you want 🙂

I'll keep you in mind Hunter; I've yet to check my local brick and mortar hobby shop(thehobbyshoponline.com). Kind of forgot about them....

no thanks Hunter, I've gone to "Plan B".....soldering flux for burnishing; looks like it takes a while to work but I've got some PE soaking in the nasty stuff right now and it should be okay by the time I'm ready to work with it..
Thanks for asking.....got to get back to the bench......pin washing road wheels at the moment 😮

That looks like a awsome model shop, I really would love to have a look into it...
In China it's all about online shopping, pretty boring.
I mean, we are scale modelers, we love to open boxes, have a look at all the sprues, thn put it back into the rack mumbling "next time... next time I'll take you home...", we need that rather than pictures in web shops... 🙂

Are you from Ohio James?

Yep Matthias......South West Ohio
About the only thing I get from my local hobby shop is paint brushes..
These brick and mortar shops are going to go extinct I fear. Shipping costs kill them and they can't carry the inventory that on line shops do.
