A couple of months ago, our club decided to start a group build. The Revell BAe Hawk came up as the most popular kit for the Flyboys

BAe Hawk T.1A Royal Air Force Red Arrows (Revell 04284, 1:32)

04284

whilst the Tamiya Austin Tilly

Light Utility Car 10HP (Tamiya 35308, 1:35)

35308

was chosen by the Mudmovers (no pun intended 😉 ) but that's for someone else... As I am exclusively building 72nd scale models but also wanted to take part in the group build, I was given permission by our chairman (thx Yves !) 😉 to stick to 72nd scale. To express my gratitude for this generous concession I decided to build 2 models.

The Fujimi kit will be finished in the RAF commemorative scheme of No.19 Sqd, painted as a Spitfire whilst the Revell kit will become a Swiss trainer.

This build reminds me of the good ol' days when Matchbox kits came in multi-coloured sprues and were assembled in an afternoon. I loved those kits and generaly they were better fitting compared to Airfix. The plastic now used for the Revell kit is bright red and the Fujimi kit is moulded in flashy green! Better get me an extra can of primer...

@ Holger & Guido

Unfortunately my 666 contributions will not be visible for long anymore, as I added some more updates, so take your screen print for free whilst you still can. If you want a screen print at a later date with "my" number this will be available by email, price: 1 kit of my choice outta your stash ...😉
