Actually the green is correct for a Pacific Theater PT boat. Most were painted in shades of green all the way to OD that faded real badly. I knew an old gent when I was about 13 that was a PT Sailor and had loads of pics of his boat and squadron. Better that hard plastic than that waxie soft plastic they used in the 80's.

I think I built that when I was a kid...was it released in PT-109 box?

Of course it was, I only need to consult the Scalemates extensive database (datawiki since we built it ourselves?)

They were, but the paint jobs were "field expedient applied" meaning that a boat would be painted with whatever the crews had at hand. There are some Squadron Signal books out in the shops that can help on color schemes. Here's a link to a couple of color shots in one of those books......

Note that it's for a Higgens class but there is also books on the Elco, Vosper and the German Schnellboot. Here's another link to a site that may help you.....

You know, all this discussion about PT's is making me want to try another one. After a 30 year gap I think that I'd like to make another one, maybe put it next to that 72nd scale PBR that came out last year.
