I just picked up this model. It seems you applied a very heavy wash to the panels.

Yes I did. Especially at the wings to give it more deepness to avoid that it looks boring I also tried to work with Grey and Brown pin wahes on the black Areas for the same purpose. And because it is SciFi nobody can say that it is not realistic 😄

How was the build overall? I know they are basically snap together, but I saw a couple of videos that convinced me to try one of the Bandai kits. Can you see the details well in the cockpit?

@ Steve: The build was without problems. I Always build them with the transparent part. This limits a little bit the view inside the cockpit. Ilumination would be an option. But Bandai also offers the oportunity to buit the kits only with a frame for the windows without transparent parts. This might allow a better view inside. In deed they are snapkits but I always glue them to avoid non closed joints which was a Problem at the AT-ST I built. I also prime and paint them in general.

@ Christian: once I finish some of the other models I have, I'll get started on this on, if I can resist building it.

The details look really good. I've been thinking about the illumination problem and thinking about building my own base with a glow tube running into the back and a light source in the base. I'll post it once I have it done.

I want to do several of the AT-ST kits. A lot of options and kit bashing there.

Happy modeling!
