For a recent Group Build on Britmodeller, I chose the colourful markings of 4 FTS on a Hawker Hunter F.6. This necessitated the removal of the "Sabrinas" and fairing over the cannon ports in the nose. I used ModelMaster Semi-Gloss White, as well as Gunze H23 Shine Red and H332 BS Aircraft Grey. I think the Shine Red is a great match to BS Signal Red, plus I already had it in my stash of Gunze paints (which total over 600 bottles!) I also used the Eduard Colour Zoom set for the cockpit and the Eduard photoetch landing flaps. The kit's air brake was replaced with a resin part from Quickboost. A quick little build, and a lot of fun!

Should be a fast build. Just shake the box et voilá 🙂 I guess it will be a british one?

Hi Stefan, yes it will be a British one. I'll be doing the F.6 XF526 from 4 FTS with its glossy red and white paint scheme. It will be different than most British Hunter models that you see!

Stefan Schneider I built the kit some time ago OOB and it was a real pleasure. I am looking forward to see it in interesting painting scheme/markings.

Whenever I see a Hunter, I always say "Hey, nice Sabrinas you've got there!" But alas, this marking scheme is for an aircraft with no Sabrinas. 🙁

I just found a picture on line of this exact plane as it appears today, sitting in a farmer's field. Interesting idea for a diorama...nah, I'm going to make it all nice and shiny.
