The lines on the chassis break with minimal pressure with the brush, the cover of the cannon, actually a very stable part, crumbles like biscuits when sawing with the finest precision saw I could find, so for the future it will only be the AMK basis for me and can then give the accessories from CZ or Vietnam
Jenshello bughunter, ohhh yes, for the scale or in the original a monster, and without SIO printer parts (except for the engine exhaust) a pleasure as a kit
JensOne thing is for sure, I will not invest any more money for SIO / AMK, even if the AMK F 14 is very tempting, but then the basis and accessories from other manufacturers will certainly no longer be SIO ....
JensDespite the real problems with the SIO 3D parts, there is light at the end of the tunnel, you don't have to say a word about the basic quality of the AMK parts, absolute top league in terms of plastic model making 1:48
Jens15 days of construction and a lot of disappointment about the 3D parts, but in the end the pictures make you forget the biggest annoyance 🙂

The AMK MiG 31 doesn't need any more compliments, it really is a superlative kit, now SIO has taken on the kit with 3D parts and initial comparisons with 3D parts from other manufacturers (e.g. MiG 25 chassis from Resikit) show that even with SIO room for improvement. Okay, SIO was the first manufacturer who wanted to bring 3D to model builders in large series, but there are still some improvements to the printed parts that should definitely be followed for the next generation, especially the choice of material, because the printed parts are very fragile and the sprues are often chosen in places that only allow further processing with stomach ache .... nevertheless, if you can do it, you have a model of the absolute top class, and still, it doesn't work without the Eduard Set, because the fracture on the seats and on the exhaust nozzles is looking forward to the brass parts 😉
