F-14A | VF-84
Wing positions are fixed at 20 degrees, and what is supposed to be oversweep (72 degrees), but looks to be way overdone (left wing). I modified the wing pieces to show a more accurate in-flight sweep (right).
Left is unmodified. Right is modified.
Using sprue to support a gear door that wasn't designed to be closed.
Modification for my unused F-35 display stand.
Not great at painting ordnance. Decals usually don't fit right. Small, awkward shapes make masking difficult. Hands are too shaky to freehand it.
Some issues with bleeding paint on masking edges.
And issues with overspray from metallic paints. I masked a whole third of the kit, and still got glitter on the other 2/3 of the body.
Turbine warning lines are the bane of my existence. Might just paint them next time.
Next up: Panel wash, grime, and sunspots
I don't think the yaw strings were red in real life, but I opted for something that wouldn't look like an errant hair on such a small kit.

Patrick HagelsteinHi Clutch, in picture 5 you are talking about the oversweep wing position. This position is used for parking on cramped aircraft carriers and inhibits movement of flying surfaces to a certain extend. I think you adjusted the right wing in the right way, this is what it looks like in supersonic flight mode.

Neal NAs I understand it, Oversweep should be 72 degrees. The left wing, as Hasegawa designed it, appears to be way more than 72. The kit's intake ramps only allow for transonic speeds, so that's where I have the wings modified to now. Max sweep of 68 degrees could be anywhere from transonic to supersonic.
