Blade Runner Police Car

The dashboard will be lighted if I can figure out where to hide the batteries...

Lighting Test / dark. By the way: this is the upside down view, I will close the open bottom when I am sure everything will work 🙂

Album image #7
Lighting test (I use those heavy battery packs)

Album image #8
I don't know if I use any of the decals, but the Blade Runner journal covers for sure will end somewhere

Album image #9
two parts left

Album image #10
lights still working 🙂

Album image #11
dashboard and chassis marriage (temp for now until I figure things out)

Album image #12
Futuristic Vending Machine concept art from deviantart.com/art/A..rt-2-Upper-557508551

Album image #13
Simple 3D Version of the "Food" vending machine from above (the virtual fashion machine will be next)

Album image #14
some Syd Mead inspired logos

Album image #15
"Payphone" Revamp 🙂 (I just realize that - while I'm pretty sure Mars was mentioned in the movie as one of the colonized worlds - this is far more Total Recall lore 🙂 )

Album image #16
Another simple 3D version of the virtual fashion vending machine from W-E-X

Album image #17
After 3,5 h of 3D printing (standard quality), will add clear sheet with blue tint on the right and computer screens to the main body

Album image #18
After 3 h of 3D printing (std. quality) the low resolution on the curved front of the "Food 3D Printing" vending machines shows. Probably I can conceal it by the large printed "screen" image.

Album image #19
"Fashion 2 Go" 3D-Apparel Printer - the left panel is transparent

Album image #20
three out of four, including the Call-Mars-Payphone (I just realized that all the white glue for the 3D-Food-Printer has not dried yet (hopefully it will...))

Album image #21
Close up go "Fashion 2 Go" Machine, the "Ali - #Status Check" figure from MB is fashionable enough to test the machine (it's already her reflection)

Album image #22
lights on 🙂

Finished, minus the tubes

Album image #28
Dark alley, leaning against the police car

Album image #29
Do you get the gist how the "Fashion 2 Go" vending machine works now?

Album image #30
Test of final diorama. The right-hand side must be removable to hide the batteries and replace them if necessary

Album image #31
Hm, my figure painting skills just don't improve. Even in 1:24 it looks like a mediocre 1:35 🙁

Album image #32
Center of attention

Album image #33
Another 3D model with a pre-fabricated storage front including rollup door, "neon" sign and control element

Album image #34
my (mediocre) version of the iconic advertisement display in the movie (the 3D printed background is also sub-par...)

Album image #35
wall

Album image #36
weathered wall

Album image #37
a little Banksy can never heard (the hand-made low-quality copy makes sense within the "story")

Album image #38
Rolling gate during printing

Album image #39
Final product (tool about five hours at normal quality)

Ali did a quick status check on her smartphone to check if her credit balance allowed her to buy this fancy 3D printed dress. Unbeknownst to her, milliseconds later she would be in the crossfire between LAPD officers and two high-ranking criminals..

Album image #45
This Luminar filter is called "Tears in the Rain" so I had to use it 🙂

Album image #46
Slowly (slowly) I get better in painting 1:24 figures (lights and shadows still missing)

Album image #47
seconds before the lethal attack by a malfunctioning robot

Album image #48
armed & dangerous

Album image #49
Album image #50
Magic hour

Album image #51
Clearly a step backward in my painting skills 🙁

Album image #52
The final figure, slightly better than the last one (I like her jeans)

Album image #53
Complete! Final showdown in the alley...

Album image #54

Two cops vs. Battle Girl and her Evil Robot (with one innocent bystander getting into the line of fire)

Cool. l did not even know that there was a kit for it. Very nice cockpit, With lights will be great. Maybe you can have them out of the kit, in the base? There the size is not longer an issue

I installed the lights and then have to hide the batteries in the base, as you suggested.

are you going to 3D print those vending machines? cool
18 February 2018, 13:09
Martin R.
That's the plan! I have an entry level Dremel 3D printer and due to the rather simple geometrical shapes of the vending machines they should come out OK.

Thanks y'all! I was fun to play around with the 3D printed parts (and the lighting) and see what does and doesn't work.
