I like your progress so far!👍 It looks like a nice kit. I haven't built any Hobby Boss kits yet, do you like them?

Thanks Björn. I build their wildcatfish so far and i was really surprised by the quality you get for your money. The wildcat i'm just building is exactly the same kit, minus the swimmers and with different decals. I can't say much about their other kits, but they are the same price range as italeri and revell and are better in my opinion so far.

Build is complete, at the moment the black primer is drying. I will have to redo some panel lines on the underside and then i will start painting it.

I just started to apply the decals provided from the box and i must say they are pretty difficult to work with. They need a very, very long time in the water so you can try to slide them on the model. However all of the red crosses broke. Still could get them on, but with the time waiting for them to be ready and the puzzle work with the crosses i only did the upper and lower wings so far (read: 6 decals). Didn't experience this with other hobby boss kits so far, so it might be just my kit or this particular. Anyhow, be careful if you have this kit. Pictures coming later, when i applied all decals.

I feel for you mate! Some decals can be really hard to handle, especially when they get old.
I really like your paint job! Nice shading! 👍

Thanks Björn, got all decals on and no casulties along the way. I noticed that only the red crosses were badly affected by this, the rest of the decals went off "without major problems" after letting them stay in the water for around 10 minutes. Now i will have to do some repairs on the crosses after the decal medium dries overnight. Time for me to decide what color the oil wash will be.

Looking good David. I found that as well with the decals on the HB Me262. They do need a long time in the water. But they are some of the toughest I have worked with. I really pummeled the dash decal to get it to fit and it didnt break up at all. If you keep the water warm that speeds things up.

Decals settled nicely and i managed to repair the crosses with some vallejo game color. Appled a matte coat of varnish.

Oil wash applied and now it's only some small assembly, weathering and minor touch-ups. Not to forget the antenna cables!

In the recent pictures you can see the completed wildcat in it's natural hunting ground. It rests on the roof of a bird table on my balcony, letting the winter sun shine on it's hide, ready to pounce on any birds trying to find some food. Perfect moment to get some decent pictures!😉
Decided to mark this project as finished. I would have loved to add some more antenna cables that the original had, however i need to research a method how to do this... whenever i glue those uschi van der rosten cables to anywhere they tend to come off on the other side again. And I'm way to impatient. 🙁
