Like t, because you built it for your father in law....Strange Lindberg and ships..............And yes, this model is really simple...Looks like they produce it in the 70's.

Oops, I almost missed this one.
My EX's dad served as first mate on one of these during the war. He's still kicking at 95 years old. His ship 1062 served in the Pacific.
He says he never really saw much action, it was just a "cargo" ship!
I built this for him last Christmas and he was just tickled pink over it, even though it is pretty plain, he loved it. He says most of the time the decks were empty anyway.
The Lindberg kit is pretty low tech, weak detail, 2 piece deck, no vehicles, no opening hull doors, so no interior or any such stuff. And, nothing available in that scale in the way of vehicles etc.
A pretty simple build. I tried to detail it a bit just so it didn't look so ugly.
