Basic interior in the kit. Seatbelts are masking tape and the instrument decal did not match the bumps on the panel.

Camo was done with hard edge masking tape

The Orange roundels look nice with the desert camo

The hardest part about the panel wash is wondering if it will come off properly. I used a water based wash on my plane painted with Testors enamels.

Almost done. Panel wash cleaned. Sealed with a flat coat. Cockpit masking removed. The yellow wing tip stripes were not mentioned in the painting guide but are on the box top painting so I added them.

Album info

No. 2 "Flying Cheetah" Squadron, South African Air Force, No. 233 Wing, 211 Group
RAF Desert Air Force, Western (North African) Theatre, 1942
Flown by Major D. B. Hauptfleisch, AFC

The South African Air Force 2 Squadron was formed in 1940. The squadron has a long history, having been involved in every single combat action in which the SAAF has taken part. During the Second World War it made a name for itself in the battles for East Africa, distinguished itself in North Africa as part of the Desert Air Force and later fought in Italy.

While this was packaged as a Revell kit, I don't think it was up to the usual standards. Still a fun kit to build and with some SAAF decals you don't see too often.
