Best matches for "jong blad", "oud blad" and light grey for the bottom. Some say it should be aluminium but I'm settling for light grey

Looking forward to see this one done! My so far only 1:48 kit was this kit and I used the KNIL decals in the kit but sadly I just followed Tammy's colour instructions so my build is in the wrong colours. But it's a fun and nice kit to build, you don't feel that the kit itself is really old from 1974. Lovely kit and the KNIL markings is suitable for the bird.

After a serious downturn in my motivation caused by severe airbrush issues I finally made some progress. I overhauled my trusty H&S Evolution and learned a trick or two so I can now spray Vallejo ModelAir without any glitches....the only hick ups are now caused by my own hamfisted technique 🙂 I used K.W. Jonkers pages for inspiration...and sprayed freehand for the first time ever......(crappy cell phone pics are up loaded )

Looking good Wim! Glad you are continuing your Buffalo. Made one too when I re-entered the hobby, nice kit. Colours looks good to me, jongblad/oudblad?

How did the decalling go Wim?

I have mixed feelings. I trashed one decal as it damaged straight away (but plenty spares luckily). I always add a little vinegar to the the water and seemed to help. The decals did react to SOL but needed multiple applications (and I had to pierce them with a hobby knive), they are stubborn. Yesterday evening everything was still drying so count tell for sure. If all fails I have some extra strength decal SOL I mixed out of IPA, acetone and water....but that is harsh on the paint....will try some pics this evening

Ok not nice to hear that Wim. Looks like Flevodecals are not of consistent quality unfortunately. Looking forward to your pics 👍

Well...the decals are a bit of let down....but I'm close to finishing this one, just need to fix the small bits and pieces and the prop....

Still looks good Wim. The colours you chose also look very good on your Java defender. Sorry about the decals, luckily enough I don't have a big stash of them!

added an antenna wire (UschiVDR), this stuff is ultra thin and stretchy...the result doesn't exactly make me proud, but it's question of practice I guess
