Hi Baran!
I´m actually working on the same kit just with a conversion to a medical Unimog. My basis kit is not to mention bad. The cabin was twisted, no crisp details and, and, and... How was your kit?

Great work on this one especially the "cockpit"! Did you used a additional decal set? Well done!

Cheers Holger

Hey Holger, thanks for your kind words!

Kit was actually crispy and had a tough plastic to sand. Seam lines were barely a problem but mold lines were quite a pain in the arse 😛

I used the Out of Box decals, as they were the same with the military one. Only mistake i've done was to place tire pressure decals after finishing the varnish 🙂 A lesson learned, i'd say😉

If you like, just paint some matt varnish over the silvering declas. That helps a bit!😢
I´m glad to hear that your kit was better. Mine is driving me crazy... Sometimes i wish that Takom or another manufacturer would bring us a new Unimog kit!

Baran,
you made something out of this kit ! 👍👍
Like the scratch around the motor.
Turkish Army como pattern ?

Guess it was an "eventure" like I had with the 1:35 kit ...

@ Holger - yes, I understand what you are talking about, I dry-fitted the second (and third kit) with wood glue and made alignment-marks before gluing everything together

A tolerance of 1-2 mm (may be caused by shrinking / too early release of the extruder pressure ?) of a part in 1:24 is not as bad as in 1:35, when I remember geometry classes right 😉

About the decals, as Holger says - paint them by hand with solvent based flat clear.
Or soak them first with some decal set solution (1-3% vinegar-solution, press the decals one by one with a Q-tip really tight to the paint and let dry) and paint after drying.

@Uwe,

Thanks for your kind words! Nah, in the ones in our Army, there's not any MG3 at top and that windshield thingy, also i've randomly freehand airbrushed the camo, improvisation at its best 😛

Album info

Hello everyone. This is my first share here; hope you like it.

I've converted this kit from 07401 THW Kit of Revell into an Army one. Added some engine details, worked freehand camo for the first time (overspray alert 😛). Colors are Humbrol 117,113 and 33 (these are the closest ones i had for NATO Green-Brown and Black). Hope you like it!
