I´ve done a second bath yerterday, but coundn´t really get rid of the light spots in the pattern... I´ll guess a third bath and some wore brushing will help...

A rather good Idea would be not to use superglue on the tracks until you´re done with the balckening, as it will seal the meal and leave silver spots... well next time😉
Hunter, I wrote you a PM😉

Basicially this is my trial and error blog about my trys to blacken Fruils. The last cemisty lessons were a few years ago, so don´t expect any qualified explanations... I´ll just show what I found out so far. 😉
The whole thing started a few days ago, as I saw two new products in the stores for exactly that purpose, but beeing a hobby chemist in my childhood I couldn´t resist trying it on my own. 😉
After a bit reseach about whitemetal I tried simple vinegar which you can find in everyones kitchen. There was certainy a kind of reaction with the links, but even after houers they were slightly draker than before.
well, so more acid was the solution. After trying out a vinegar based cleaner, I finaly ended up using an already used descaling agent ("intelligent" coffe machines produce that from time to time).
I´ve left it in there for about 5 hours and rubbed the the agent in with an old toothbrush. The sesult is partially quite nice, but esp. ariunf the pattern on the front the reaction hasn´t really worked.
