Comparison in size: F6F Hellcat, F4U Corsair and F8F Bearcat. Surprised to see the Bearcat is the smallest and the Hellcat is the biggest!

Album info
This is the vintage Monogram kit from the 1970's re-issued by Revell. It was an easy build and still makes into a great kit. OOB the kit builds into the F8F-1b model which was armed with 4 x 20mm cannon. I removed 20mm gun barrels to back date to the .50 cal armed model. I also plugged the see-through front wing edge intakes. I used Starfighter decals to mark the plane as an aircraft fo Vf-31 in 1946. VF-31 was one of the first fighter squadrons to equip with the Bearcat. VF-31 flew Bearcats until they re-equiped with F9F Panthers in 1948.
