I first start a project making the water base. I follow different methods by Frank Spahr and Werner De Keersmaeker making my water base. I used a Styrofoam board and cut it in shape with a sharp knife. Then I sand the base and add a coat of papier-mache. Next I applied wall paint with a brush in a stippling motion. Because of fine cracks on the surface I applied a coat of PVA glue to harden and seal the surface. Once dried I brushed a coat of blue gray Vallejo acrylics in different shades. The whitewash was brush painted using Vallejo acrylics as well in a wet in wet method. When completely dry I add some coats of high gloss varnish. I used clear gloss lacquer in rattle cans.
