Have been taking a break from plastic modelling of late to try my hand at some of the wooden 3D models from ROKRGEEK.
Apart from the assorted springs, it is constructed entirely from wood, with all the components laser cut to shape.
No glue or fillers required and everything just slots together after a quick clean-up.
The cool thing about it is that it is fully functional, and fires wooden dowels for bullets, albeit at very low velocity.

Very highly recommended if you want to try something completely different for a change of pace.
I might give it a light wood stain and then a coat of varnish and mount it on my wall.

Cheers Pepe & Neuling 🙂

I've also done a sawn off pump action shot-gun, an Ak-47 as well as a number of smaller pistols.
They are VERY addictive!

James, didn't see these kind of kits yet. Looks realistic. Is it a 1:1 scale?

No, I believe that they are approx. 3/4 scale... the revolvers are possibly slightly smaller. The Desert Eagle (not pictured) looks almost 1:1 scale though and is a complicated build.
Nice change of pace working with wood rather than plastic, and the internals are fully functional... just have to thoroughly lubricate everything with wax to ensure nothing binds up inside.
Would make excellent Xmas presents for kids, but will definitely require adult supervision for assembly (especially the larger rifles and shotgun)... just don't expect them to last very long if being played with.
My intention is to mount mine on a wall for display.

Hehe, I was actually looking at the large scale Lego Millenium Falcon the other day... until I saw the price. 😮

LOL! If the price doesn't stop you, figuring out where to display it will!
