British Armoured Car WWI
No tracks to battle with but it does have these great but complex wheels
The wheels came together easier than I feared
Attempt to enrich the inside
Added detail inc some sort of dash and opening of engine bay
Final additions time to add paint and see if things still look ok. Rivets slightly over sized to help them be visible once everything closed up
Finally so primer, and pre shade, ever the optimist that I don’t blast the final colour on 🙂
Base wood to enable worn over paint effect?
Weathering of internals. Dash complete and seats
Body work attached either temporary for painting, like turret roof or permanently like main coach work
Lost the kit included plastic sheet for the headlights so added a bulb while made lens covers myself
Finished, top off
Complete

Start made and already found this kit is not for beginner. The detail is great but the parts small and need a little clean up here and there plus a few sink marks. The fitting of the engine parts are a little tricky but should get a nice engine once complete and you can cover it up if you make a mess 😆. I hope to have an engine panel open to show it off if I think I've done it worthy.
Trying a new technique on the seats that I've seen, using food wrap to give extra texture once painted, we'll see if it works.

Watching with interest, Sy. The spoked wheels look great 👍 I'm curious about the seat enhancement you mention, and hoping to learn lots 🙂👍

Nice to see the build of this Roden kit. Last year I build this one to (in fact I build 3 kits) The Roden wheels are so much better than the meng.
Don't you find the surface texture a bit rough? Luckely after painting it no longer stands out.
If you like you can take a look.

Thanks all for comments, hope I can keep up the work.
#Lex Jassies I'd already looked at your builds, although only spotted them after I'd started. If I can come close to your work I will be a very happy builder. I have spotted some strange textures especially on wooden bits so fingers crossed they work in the paint job.
On that point I think I've build too much of the engine and do made heavy going for the engine painting 😮 this is my usual trick of racing a head 🙂

I seam to have stepped through the looking glass with this one, attempting load of extra bits none of which may work or even be visible in the end but it's all fhe fun of our hobby 😉

Cool idea doing some of the scratch building while the parts are on the sprue. Nice!

Thanks for the kind comments, #Osadciw leaving some bits on sprue means I have a little more chance of not loosing them 👍. Build has slowed due to normal life getting in the way 😄

Really love your work on this Sy. I made the earlier Roden kit a few years back and added more detail when I fell in love with the motor, but with nowhere near the quality you have done.
This is a much more complex kit than the original Roden, and greatly improved by the look of it!!

Many thanks @Roger for you kind words I've enjoyed adding bits-n-pieces to this kit and could have done looking at your version for more reference material

Wow thanks for all the kind words peeps. I know we all do this hobby for the enjoyment but it's a solo thing until you put your work on here and then you feel part of a bigger family 👍👍

#Kohl I do figures at times (see my Kübelwagen Type 82 album - Kübelwagen Type 82 | Album by Sybar (1:35)) [hope the link is ok to post - is there a correct or best way to link to another SCM album/post?]
But have distinct lack of WWI figures let alone desert WWI figures. But thanks for the kind remarks
