No it' not finished until now
Now it follows the hole weathering, the figures and a small base
Great result. As Mirko already said, the mud looks aweseme, very real. 👍
simply fantastic job. model, base, and figures. and in 1/72. wow, Neuling is totally right
Thanks guys but the project had ups and downs-particulary the quality of sone parts
Love this one butiful work and interesting set up
Makes you think how it would be to be there
The model looks great, I particularly like the color tone and the camouflage pattern.
Thanks for your feedback jv, bohrmann and micky!
@jv: you probably saw the reference picture,
an elephant can be seen there, but i think that the ferdinands had had similar situations before😉
@bohrmann: I also think that the pre shading worked very well on this model.
The used colors are RAL7028 and RAL6003
Yes I did see it well done you always make it interesting
Not just the model
Wonderful model and figures. I love the bogged down setting too - it tells a nice story about the impracticality of these monsters.
Hi neil, alec and kim thanks for your comments!
This picture of the elephant has fascinated me since i saw it for the first time.
It's actually not very spectacular but I knew I had to implement it once
A perfect paint job - as expected from Simon 🙂. Simple but very convincing vignette. Spot on. While I thought that the tow bar on your Abrams looked a bit out of place, here the cables are just the cherry on the cake. Your painting makes all the imperfections of the figures negligible. I just like this bogged down giant.
Thank you Michael🙃
That was one of my first models after my return (and the first 1:72 model from Dragon) that I had finished.
And the figures were also one of my first attempts at this scale.
But overall I'm quite happy with it.
I still have the Trumpeter in stock, the possibility of being able to make it even better😉
Thank you again and thanks everyone for the likes!
I much like the small sceneries you create - excellent work as always Simon 👍
Hey Simon! Very nice paintwork. I like the simplicity of the diorama's layout. Will follow your work. 🙂
Thank you very much S.S.I.!
Be assured, you're always welcome 😁
How could I have overlooked this absolutely convincingly built, painted and beautifully weathered Ferdinand? Congratulations on this superb model Simon!
Thank you so much Stefan!!
At the moment I am revising some of my earlier works to better adapt them to the others.
Maybe you have already come across the older version of it 😂
Album info
A "Ferdinand" in Russia- Eastern Front 1943.
The idea is based on two original pictures which gave me the inspiration.
I used the kit of Dragon (7515).
The actual idea was to represent the "Elefant", but this kit has some strong quality problems (in my case) and had to replace all elephant parts with those of the "Ferdinand".
Fortunately, all the necessary parts were included, but although the "Ferdinand" parts had their problems.
For better detailing, a gun barrel from RB Model (72B10) and a cable set from Eureka (ER-7209) were used.
This one is also one of my early works in 1/72 scale and after a corruption I decided to give him a small update.
Based on the original pictures I used a accessories set from Black Dog (T72145) and changed the crew´s arrangement a bit.
The figures are from CMK (F72228, F72307).
The painting on the vehicle has also been refined and the tankers have been given a completely new coat of paint.
