Awesome looking T-80 Jakub. The weathering and dusting is perfect. Very cool! 👍
Thanks, I always trying not to go into comic-like looking painting. In same time, in fact, I added here and there some contrast to emphasize the shapes 🙂 it's good that it didn't work out too intrusively.
Many thanks 🙂 Now Zvezda's T-90MS onboard with some scratchbuilding to deliver still warm russian muffin -> T-90M 😄
Album info
Another project completed, this time T-80BV from Trumpeter. Model quite good, details ok, unfortunately some bugs had to be corrected. Besides, I thought that with this model I would practice making metal parts myself. Therefore, the only accessory I bought were the Kontakt-1 boxes from Mikrodisign. And this is how the initially assumed fast model was built for 5 months. I must admit that I am satisfied with the effect, although at the end of the work I had to modify the version I chose at the beginning.
My initial idea was to build a BV with short side skirts and a commander's hatch counterweight. In addition, I thought to include it in the first Chechen campaign. This was the configuration of the tank 9th group, side number 198, which took part in the first assault on Grozny on December 31, 1994. However, due to the fact that it was completely destroyed during the fighting at Ordzhonkidze Avenue. Thought I would prefer one that survived the fights though. Therefore, I chose a tank with side number 191 of the same unit. It was damaged, but eventually it was evacuated, repaired and put back into service.
In determining the correct version, I would like to thank Vladimir Konovalov
