Thanks Thomas, Rui and Spanjaard for your kind comments. There are parts of it I wish I'd done differently but overall I'm kind of happy. I did enjoy the Frankenstein nature of a tank that had changed over 2 years of fighting. The pics of it in a scrap yard, immediate post war, do give hints of winter white wash but overall it looks very tired and worn. I tried to match the wheel colour to the original and used a pic of another panther from the same unit as a basis for the use of wheels with a different bolt count (new and old wheel mix).

Thanks Neuling and Tom for your comments. Yes Tom really interesting, it looks like a really early D with quite a few later changes so the thought that this tank might have been at Kursk and somehow managed to make it through the terrible late war battles and survive, is amazing. As soon as I saw the pic I knew I needed to model it (with a bit of historically based artistic license 🙂 )
