Yes - very huge. Each of the wagons is about nearly 30 cm. The total thing is nearly 2 m long !

Well said, Malte!

That's true 🙂 Only the toys get bigger and for adults only - in any subject ...

Were you going to paint the wood decking or weather the natural wood?
What a project! Kinds overwhelms any other armor kits.

I will paint it with oil colors.... and sand it after it again.... 🙂

Micha, Did you ever find the turned aluminum barrel for this monster. I have been trying to find it but can't get my hands on one.

Michael Franz
Hi Mac,
no sorry - never tried as the costs were too expensive for me.... with the aluminium barrel the costs for this project will increase too much.... my wife would kill me 🙂

Soar Art sell the metal barrel , just go to their sire and it is in two sections to buy, don't know the price though, but I aim to get it for my kit being posted on Monday Feb 17th 2014 ?

The barrel is as expensive as the whole kit...... no way 🙂

As far as size goes, shipping weight on this monster in the box is 50 lbs. Length with track on base when complete is 6 feet. Compare that to the size of a 1/35 king tiger or the K5 rail gun which is about half that size.
3 August 2014, 16:09
Spanjaard
i am impress, and not only with the size, you are doing a great job so far.

Ca! il faut quand même pouvoir le ranger... 😄 C'est même domage qu'ils ne mettent pas la loco avec...

Big difficulties - thanks to Peddinghaus-Decals which are much too thick and look really ugly (if looking from the near). And the decals could be removed as complete decal... just like normal stickers..... what a mess... Now I have decided to remove all (!!) white decals once again....
A good contact of me is graphicer and she will make all the decals for me brand new ..... and print it on a very thin new decal foil .... then this problem should be solved finally 🙂
9 November 2016, 12:23
Holger Kranich
Seems as Peddinghaus and the modeling community has a love-hate relationship. Some hate ´em some like them very much, crazy! 😠

I had some bad experience already. ... and there was a day when I said "never ever again" .... but as there are no alternatives for Dora ... 🙁 No I wait for my new decals ... 🙂 Then everything will become good 🙂 I hope 🙂

It surely will, Micha!😉

In Germany it is still available ... for huge money 🙂
10 November 2016, 09:26

looks very nice so far... and nice additions to this kit, that, with regards to the price should have been included directly... I'll stick to my Hobby Boss one in 1:72... still large enough.

Thanks a lot 🙂
I think the kit is good .. mostly ... but for its price Soart Art did a bad job - too many mistakes. The size and quantity of parts makes the price ok, but the quanitity of mistakes is a shame for Soar Art ....
But the final kit is really impressive 🙂

What do you think about the figures on the gun? The positions, how they interact together?
30 December 2016, 19:32
gorby
I didn't realise how big this thing is until I saw the photo of the UHU bottle. It's a MONSTER! As for the figures, they look very good, but for me there is one exception - in photo 153, the bloke sitting at the rear of the carriage. His legs are dangling strangely and the position of his arms looks odd for the location he is in. His posture makes it look like his feet should be on the ground, maybe on the steps facing the figure with the sack, for example.
It really is a stunning model you are building Micha.
30 December 2016, 20:09
Ed Froix
WOW! this is an amazing piece of work!
31 January 2017, 08:41
Dan M
Oh, what a monster! Superb work!!! And to think that I thought the 1:72 scale version to be too big. This is absolutely gargantuan. Amazing masterpiece! I assume the figures were not included?
31 January 2017, 08:56
Michael Franz
No, the figures were from Masterbox, Trumpeter, MiniArt, ICM, .... 🙂
31 January 2017, 10:03

RESPECT 👍
31 January 2017, 16:29
MAC FELSING
Micha, where did you get the decals. I need to obtain a set also.
Thanks.
31 January 2017, 22:38
Michael Franz
I have made the decals myself and printed at decalprint .... not 100% (a bit silvering not avoid) but better then the ones from Peddinghaus ....

Hi there.

Quick question. What type of Aluminium mesh did you use for the walk ways?

Thanks

Kolossal ! No other word...

And you started in 2011 ? Can that be true ?
7 July 2020, 22:00
Deano Johns
Thanks for the idea to look at Modulor. can you remember what dimensions you used for the mesh walkways?
17 July 2020, 15:11
Michael Franz
Unfortunately not .... I looked in my stash but I do not have anything left to measure it ... I am very sorry ...
30 July 2020, 11:49

I remember the one my Dad built to play GHQ model games like 1/160 👎 scale, but at 1/35 scale this just a think of beauty and power, just master class, well done!!!
