Yup Martin. I want to add the Gannet and a Sea King as well 🙂 Think it's gonna looks cool when ready 🙂

Wow, fingers crossed for that. I hear the Sword Gannet is a bit difficult but hey, there IS a 1/72 Gannet model in existence so triple cool for that regardless lol

Any project including a Phantom and Buccaneer is always going to be good 🙂.

Exactly what I want to do. Having completed the Phantom, I have the Buccaneer and am expecting the new Eduard brass and masks for the kit. I also have the Gannet kit, yet still need the wingfold. Pitos, which Sea King kit are you planning to use, and where will you be getting the markings? Best wishes for the project from Frank

THX guys but this is a project not for the near future 🙂 Frank - I'm still waiting for the proper kit of Sea King from Ark. As far as I know there are no any, but I hope will be when I finally start the project 🙂

Thank you for the pointer, Piotr! I´ll follow your progress!

I´m thinking about using the Revell kit of the German Navy Sea King, minus some of the later equipment. What do you think?

Frank, have you figured out the kits needed for SeaKing HAS2 and Wessex HAS1 yet ? 🙂
My thoughts are close to this project again 🙂

Piotr, I´ve drifted away from the project, too. But I would rather try and get it completed until next year´s EME in Lingen, if possible. So any input on the kits and markings needed would be very much appreciated - if I find something, I´ll tell you!

Thank you very much - once the sheet is out I´ll try to get one! Just what I need ...

That obviously still leaves the question of which helo kits to use ...

Following along. I too have a FAA collection coming along (all in the stash currently). If you can find the old fujimi SeaKing, it is quite a nice kit. The Revell "Tiger Meet" kit is good and should be easy enough to convert into an earlier mark. I may even have some decals you can have for an early SeaKing too.

@Gareth thanks for this useful info !

I have ordered the Trumpeter Gannet AS.4 kit plus the Eduard Big Ed, I hope the conversion to the COD variant won´t be too strenuous. I also went a bit overboard and ordered the Revell combo of the Sea King and Lifeboat aka Seenotrettungskreuzer Berlin. Which gives me a Sea King, and as a longtime supporter of our lifeboats, a welcome opportunity of building one. Obviously in anticpation of the Ark Royal decals.

Italeri 1/72 HAS.3 seems a good choice. I post it here just in case 🙂

That´s what I treated myself to, also! I also have masks and some PE. So now the kits are all present and correct, but the decals - unavailable for the time being. But I am patient.

I just ordered the decals from Aviation Megastore in the Netherlands!
