Where can i get the decal sheet for this kit? Mine cam without any decals, and only a sticker referring to a certain German law prohibiting the distribution of Nazi symbols. I emailed Tamiya HQ about this, but they refer me to my local importer/distributor, which is the German importer..

I have this kit too, especially the missing number plates annoyed me..
But anyway, give it a try, i reordered decals for their old Panzer IV. Four weeks later i got the full sheet, including the DAK palm-tree...
It's some kind of legal limbo in Germany, (is it art, or not..) but to be on the safe side, they often remove the entire sheet or cut out markings and insignias.

Where did you order them? I tried contacting the UK distributor, but they couldn't ship outside the UK, and suggested i should contact one of their resellers. Might try that, but since UK mail takes at least a week to arrive (i think they let their mailbags swim across the North Sea) i'd like to try a company in the EU first..

Yes it is really annoying sometimes with the swastikas in germany... You should leave it to the modelers, whether we apply it or not.

It was Tamiya Germany, (contact over tamiya.de), otherwise you can ask Faller (importer for Germany) web address should be faller.de

@Holger, i this case really, no number plates, tacitical marks, nothing.

Btw. HobbyBoss is using a quite good system, the seperated the swastika into the two S, so there "isn't" a swastika in the box 🙂

one has to have sympathy with you chaps, why are you letting people your 'administrators' bury your history, ok it's a pretty black page in history but them trying to hide it is as nutty as a north korea

In fact, this law protects history from being falsend and downplayed. The use of the swastika is still allowed in science, history and art.
The main aim of StGB 86 is, to prevent neo-nazis from running around with NS-insignia. And therefore i can live without swastikas in decal sheets.

I agree with Fabian and can understand you Maarten! It's a shame that some people never woke up in Germany! I for myself purchase many aircraft kits by mates from Austria, so the decals contain what it needs to make a historic correct plane/tank😢!

aha fabian, so why is the 'art' of SCALE models not part of your second sentence, you have to agree that there is a bit of overkill bordering on censorship.
i cannot see this law stopping what it means to do, you will only make it attractive by banning it
let the fools run around with swastikas, they will be easier to recognize

not sure about the wise bit, i just not only believe in total freedom but also believe in taking responsibility for that freedom, banning is not freedom it leads to corruption..................sorry, i'll stop the bs and BUILD!!!!!!!

Isn't it why we are here? To build give a sh*t about what others think? Maarten, I like your way of thinking!🙂

Hoi Eend, how about trying an importer outside of Germany? Or why not try a modelshop in the UK, eg LSA in Hove or Hannants or look through their online catalogue.
You could also ask the German importer what he has done with the decals he has removed, hopefully they don't have a bi-anual bonfire where they dance around it singing: "Nazi nein...Nazi nein....Nazi nein...." .

LOl Maarten😉 By the way.... forget the german importer as they're.. hmmm... let me say it this way... toffee nosed. In my opinion they don't really care about the customers 😠

What i also wonder is..........are those models cheaper than anywhere else because something vital (to me the decals are vital) is missing? Surely they are breaking some trade law by knowingly selling something defunct??

I don't know, i never visited a store outside of Holland and Germany. But judging from online shops in the UK, most kits cost usually a bit more here in Holland.
