Thanks for the comments. I've based it on Buck Danny. The X15 is not the correct type ( should be with 2 windows and shorter fuselage) but only the purists will see it.

Beautiful build! I'm not sure I could match it. Did you consider at all using different shades of aluminum to represent panels with more or less wear than others? I've seen it executed in rags and on webzines by modellers far superior to I but I like the effect. Still there's something to be said for a good clean build too! A+ work there!

Thanks for the comment.
I did some research about the NASA motherships and found out that from 1962 on, they were painted in a silver lacquer. No different schades for the panels (see book by Brian Lockett - painting guide for the Boeing Stratofortress motherships). I opted for a clean built as their flying time was very limited and the paint was still fresh in my opinion.
