Dirk Heyer my congrats that you`ve purchased it!
I think it was not the cheapest one!
Wish you a lot of fun with that beautiful car!
1. December 2013 at 21:44:41
Alexander Aristides Cronvall Don't worry Urban, i got special plans for it :) I got it for a great price during the black friday sale. and its a beautiful kit as always from Tamiya as Dirk showed us with his work on it, so i just couldn't resist :)

3. December 2013 at 20:24:25
Steve Wilson The truth is Alex!!! Be honest...
Ferrari sent this kit to you to build, so as you could report back to Ferrari with hints on aerodynamic design and any other helpful information you could give them!!! on the Car... Why else would you have kit that Car :S
4. December 2013 at 07:34:00
Alexander Aristides Cronvall Haha, that's exactly how i got it Steve ;) but next year Ferrari don't need no help. they have the best drivers and no competition at all. now all they have to do is transfer all those guys that have been working around the clock on the road car division so all the spoiled kids and retarded rappers can park their sophisticated kers and drs systems on the streets of London. now when they have their toys that they don't use it's time to work on the racing division again. soon Alonso will retire and Kimi is a wild card. he does whatever pleases him. so now is their chance before they are stuck with 2 new kids in their cars and will have to start building the team all over again.

Steve Wilson True very true, wise words Alex ;)

Dirk Heyer @ Steve
You are right, unfortunately! :/
But talking with my 21 years old son will show me always the new direction in the purchase behaviour in future.
Referred to me, the next Hobby Shop is about 1 hour away from my town! And that is unfortunately a fact since more than 6 years!
For example, let`s have a look to Frankfurt/ Main, one of the big city's only 30 min. away from my town. There is only one model-shop, it is a mouse hole with nothing of interest mostly for me! And we are talking about a city with 691.518 inhabitant.
So no wonder if I`m bidding and trading via internet!
But sometimes I yearn according to the good old days, sitting in a model-shop and talking with friends about our hobby!
;(
I do understand you very well, Steve!!!!
Sometimes I believe I`m too old to understand all those new features and consequences of this new IT- World! ;/

Steve Wilson @Dirk...
Once upon a time, there was a Coach Driver, who visited places of interest in the UK with parties of people out for the Day, that driver was me... If I was going to, say, Rugby for instance, I'd ring my friend Martin at Midland Racing Models to let him know I was coming. He was a ahem!!! large built chap, if you didn't know him, he could come across as offish. But once you got to know him he was a diamond. His shop was in an arcade, from the outside it didn't look like a shop, more a storage space, once inside you were greeted by piles of of floor to ceiling stacks of model kits, every possible scale, every possible manufacturer, every possible car, styrene, multi-media, metal, resin, hundreds of them everywhere!!! no semblance of order. But he knew where every single kit was. Tucked away in a corner, in a cubby hole made out of model kit boxes, was a desk and a lamp, which he'd sit at happily making one of his models. If a customer came in he'd tut! disapproval at the interruption, and mutter, from behind his stack of kits, " YES ", " what do you want??? Customer, bewildered, spinning on the spot, looking up at the ceiling, left thinking who what and where am I talking too...
I'd sit and chat to this guy for ages. He raced cars at Le Mans, he was a member of Silverstone's elite BRDC, did Dinner speeches... He was an excellent model builder, extremely intelligent, his stories were second to none. You cannot get this kind of thing on the internet. Sadly this Dinosaur passed away a few years back, which is catastrophic for this hobby of ours, not only is it another shop gone, but the guy himself and all those stories. We need character's like this, he was the typical British eccentric of modelling...
In my travels, I met other other little back street model shop owners, just like him, but before my eyes they are disappearing. Leaving just a blank emotionless laptop...

Steve Wilson By the way...
You can still see his advert, in older copies of " MOTORSORT " magazine...

Stefan Suessemilch @ Dirk, do you mean uscarmodels in Bergen-Enkheim? I'm in Egelsbach next week and would love to know which shop you go to. You're absolutely right, unbelievable that such a big city doesn't have a big shop. @ Steve, yes mate... very very sad. There's a nice shop 50km away from me, very nice people who always love to chat. Now they're opening for just a few hours on 3 days. Reason: they don't have time to sit there and watch customers looking for hours and just buy a brush, because they're too busy with the internet shop thing.... Sure I could also make some great deals via internet, but I love to chat to the people who sale the kits. You always get some good advise or a great story behind. Scalemates is a great option, but it's always better to look someone in the eyes you're talking to. What a world would this be only communicating via internet? That's why I think the events part of scalemates is one of the best thing ever!

Dirk Heyer @ Steve and Stefan:
I agree in all terms!!
@Stefan:
There is a little Hobbyshop in Frankfurt, called Hobbyttreff:
hobbytreff.eu/shop/page/1?se..M1P007WmqXte&shop_param=

His focus is fixed on trains and modellcars in HO. Maybe you will find something.
If I was there 2 or 3 years ago, I couldn`t find no topics for any chats as he is a train maniac and not really a modeller!

I`m missing Theo Weiß and his little Hobbyshop near the Zoo in Ffm. Sadly he passed away several years ago! :/ He was a maniac, a men with knowledge of all models and the available accessories in all category's and very important, there was a chat corner for the customers! Friday evening or Saturday morning this little Hobbyshop was always our target!
Uscarmodels is the only Hobbyshop where you can find everything in scale 1:20, 1:24, 1:12 etc. p.p., but it is extremly expensive there, isn`t it?!
5. June 2013 at 12:17:04
Stefan Suessemilch Yes Dirk, your right. uscarmodels got lot of us models I'm not really interested in & Hobbytreff is only for HO. Today I went to "my" shop. Current they get some discount at Tamiya, so I ordered some cars for a really good price ;)
5. June 2013 at 19:55:45
Dirk Heyer What`s your shop?
5. June 2013 at 20:33:15
Stefan Suessemilch I prefer Axel's Modellbaushop in Uslar, it's about 50km from Goettingen, but as mentioned before they're also online scalemates.com/shops/shop.php?id=766 :)
