Xenia V. Oh, okay. I thought it was a deliberate thing like when those L1011 moulds were dumped into a harbour...

Ray Seppala I plan to start mine soon, the kit has its issues but the major one is the nose. I have a spare Airfix E-3 kit that was given to me part started that I will use the nose section from for starters

Günther Debiscop L1011 molds, you're talking about Revell right? These got lost wehn the ship sunk when returning from Brazil to the US.
Revell also destroyed a mold when creating the P-3. They changed so much on the original Electra mold, that they can't reproduce the Electra anymore But the good news is that they learned (a lot ?) of their mistake.

Ruben Garay How do you replace the nose? Just saw it off? Newbie question!
Glenn . I brought one of these when it was first released but sold it later. Very nice tooling, reminded me of Heller B707 kit as far as detail (panel lines etc) with nice resin wheels and engines. I wonder what happened to this tooling? Must have cost heaps to tool a kit this size? Why it hasn't been re-released by someone else? Poor tooling is sitting around in a warehouse somewhere collecting dust!
