Pero Sušić
Hello out there.
I'm building this kit and right now I'm about to plan the camouflage. It has to be the black glossy one. I like it, it looks pretty good.
Does anybody have me some advice how to weather a black glossy camouflage?
Thanks a lot.

Roland Gunslinger Hi Pero,
IMHO this scheme is a showbird and isn't much weathered. But if you want to weather it i suggest to make the Panel Lines with a light-darker grey. According to the weathering age i would do some matt clear coat over some parts of the surface. Gloss finish is lost by dust and dirt hitting the surface on ground and in flight. You also can use a sandpaper.
Oil Streakings from the flaps/slats and on the underside. And a wash with some dusty colors are also possible.

Though it breaks my heart looking at this beautiful showbird weathered, im looking forward to see your result :)

Pero Sušić Hello Roland, thank you for your thoughts. You may be right. This camo is meant to look good, not to look weathered. I have to think about it.

Augie wants this item

Clifford Keesler I bet that is going to be a nice kit. Is it the Revell F.3 plastic?
22. February 2019, 18:07
Augie Its is apparently the Revell F.3 plastic. I want it for the decals hehe :D
22. February 2019, 18:09
Clifford Keesler I have the Tornado IDS but I am going to convert it to a GR. 1 and do it in the Operation Granby Gulf war Scheme,
22. February 2019, 18:16
Augie I have IDS and GR.4... One going german, the other RAF slate an slime wrap around.
22. February 2019, 18:37
Clifford Keesler I do not like the German IDS color scheme that comes in the kit. I like the normal German color scheme, but I can't figure out what colors to use. The British one is Desert Pink which I have 3 bottles of. LOL. I do not think the GR.4 is in production any more, I looked on Revell Germany's website and it is not in their catougle any more, and most of the shops I use list it as out of stock. So beats me. Am going to grab a F.3 before it disappears also.
22. February 2019, 23:42
Augie I'm surprised its gone out of production so soon, its only 2 yrs old.. I think I know where I can get my hands on one for about £17
22. February 2019, 23:52
Clifford Keesler Wow that is cheap. LOL.
23. February 2019, 00:31
Augie Correction, could.. they are out of stock.. but some at fair prices on evil bay
