Now the fun part! Paint the panels (witch we're covered in the Last step) with the Base colors of the paint scheme, you can do the same Base colors or use the lighter color (e.g. If the Base is FS35237 you can use FS36320 for the inside). Go gently over the edges of panels to get that Spot paint Look.

In the next step tone everything a littel bit down and blend It together with the lightest Base color (Here FS36375) extremly dilluted. The result should Look like this...

For the Filter: Oil paint (Starship filth), thinner and two worn Out brushes...

Our victim: the left wing.

Album image #30
First step: apply some thinner over the entire surface.

Album image #31
Apply some randome dots with the Oil paint to the wet surface.

Album image #32
Dip one of the worn out brushes into thinner and wipe It off, the brush must be slightly moistend.

Album image #33
Now the fun part: "Attack" the dots with the moistend brush and spread the result around. The step goes as followed: spread the paint - Clean the brush - moistend the brush -spread again - repeat till you are satisfied with the result.
Be careful: don't overdo It. The base color will be darker when a gloss or matt Cote is applied ("sometimes less is more...")

My preference is pre-shading using the Black-Basing technique, but I'm curious how you will do this weathering. I haven't seen this before, following with great interest my friend!

What Patrick says...! I find this weathering technique very interesting...the fact that you're creating realism and the 3d effect, love it!

oh this is masterfully done! 👍 👍 👍
maybe just a little bit too evenly distributed? Maybe add some "unexpected glitches" to the respray matrix to break the grid look up a bit 🙂 Some dots or a big soft edged respray job in some corner or something like that
watching with great interest, this will be a stunner!

Hi Daniel. You are right, i will do some 'unexpectd glitches' after the filter. Thx for the advice mate.

DuperScale
Awesome, thank you for the tutorial. Did you used a panelliner or wash before you used the oilpaints?
7 April, 16:36
Tommy Agne
Hi DuperScale. I've done a Panel Line wash (Pin wash) before the oils, and the a good gloss Cote with Tamiya x22 and leveling thinner.
