John AutorI think their reputation is simply being able to provide subjects in scales no one else will touch. Certainly I have not heard them praised for ease of build! That being said, it's all here and they never promised a rose garden.

CaptGPFEngaging build process with a fabulous result! The subtle tonal variations really paid off after your eternity of doodling over the black base, and the subtle weathering is done to perfection! ❤️❤️❤️

John AutorThanks for the comments everyone! And yes, Capt it did feel kind of eternal when doodling 😄 I have since learned when using a darker color that your doodle coat should be a lot lighter than you think you need as you can always blend coat a touch more to tone it down but if it's not light enough, poof, it's gone even with the most minimal of blend coats.

John AutorThanks Neil and Mike! It's small enough in 1/48, it must be truly diminutive in 1/72. I had to squint enough doing details on on this one to make 1/72 impossible for me.

John AutorQwertzel, bughunter has it exactly right, that is what I did. Worked perfectly. For the rear doors, I masked the roof and floor parts with tape, then used the foam. Side doors, just a square piece of foam a little oversize as bughunter suggests. For the yellow, white primer can work but believe it or not, pink is also a good color for priming yellow areas.
