What a beautiful result of a civil S-70 👍 Who can expect a model of this special helicopter? And your craftsmanship is beyond reproach anyway!

This is an amazing build, the Airfix kit is great and I can see clearly what you have had to do to achieve the S-61N, Shortsky. The landing gears are beautiful, along with the tail rotor boom modifications.

Almost uncanny, your abiltity to exceed your previous project every single time, and this one ist no exception 😳
Once again, all the subassemblies look functional and megarealistic. my favourite detail is the „remotecontrol" in the pilots Window 😁🤩😉

I remember thinking about building one myself a few years ago—and I still do. It's such an unusual-looking and rare subject.
But after seeing what you've achieved here, I realize I don't yet have the skills or capacity to pull off something like this.
Thank you for sharing the journey and walking us through it. There's true craftsmanship and impressive engineering behind this work.

Thanks, Edgaras, for putting this into the feed; otherwise, I would have missed a beautiful helicopter.

Thank you very much, Bernhard!
It's great alchemy and fun.
Not only in colour, but also in detail. What details, such as engraving or rivets, are reasonable to omit at a certain scale. Or pitot tubes in 1/200 scale on airliners....?
Your information goes very inspiring. Many years ago, I read somewhere a reference to similar rules of lightness of colour by scale. But I'd forgotten that, and you've reminded me of it and, more importantly, clarified it. Thanks!

Seven months after the announcement, the interior set from Sema is now on the market. For the cabin, the set offers about a dozen parts, of which in my opinion the stretcher (Striker) and the Lopo console are most valuable because they are complicated and time-consuming to scratch.
The Lopo console is available in the late version, so that the late version of the Mk.41 can be built in conjunction with the Striker stretcher. The remaining parts such as the life raft, carrying straps, the oxygen bottles and the two folding seats for the area of the front door look fine.
In addition, there are rudder pedals as well as the entry staircase or the lower part of the door. It is a pity that Sema did not add the upper part of the door, as this is just as far away from the original in the kit as the lower part. At this point, the model builder must act on his own.
The instructions indicate that it is only a basic set, in which the model builder must show initiative. The exact positions of the parts are not specified, which in my opinion is not a problem, because due to the many modifications over the course of the many years of operation there were a lot of equipment.
Every model builder is best advised if he chooses a certain machine as a model at a certain time.
Conclusion; there is a basis for equipping the late Mk.41. My recommendation would be that before deciding on this set you take a look at the competitors products, some of which offer a larger range of components. If I build a second Mk.41, I will do the same.

In the meantime, I can report on practical experience. The decals from Nils are absolutely top class: in quality comparable to Cartograph. Are absolutely thin, cleanly printed and very good-natured in processing. After treating the model surface with Mr Color 232 Setter and subsequent use of Micro ScaleRed Fluid the carrier film is no longer visible at all or the gloss level of the carrier film adapts to the gloss level of the unterground. By the way, my underground/model surface was at most semi-matt and, as usual, not drowned with shiny clear coat. As usual, I will not use clear varnish afterwards.
One more point I would like to underline especially: the national badges/roundels were printed without white. So you automatically have the appropriate shade of white for the underground. Thank you Nils Mathisrud. Highly recommended.

Today I had the opportunity to see the finished instructions of the MK 43 conversion kit for the first time. It is a PDF document consisting of 8 pages, which contains 18 detail photos and 2 photos from the side of the Norwegian Mk43 Seaking.
All photos are excellently exposed, and give clear indications of the position of all individual components. The photos are of machines with the numbers 60, 62 and 74. (First delivery series).
Also parts for the subsequently delivered three machines 322, 329 and 330 are included. If you want to build one of these subsequently delivered three machines, I recommend to consult original photos. There are small differences between the 1.st and 2.nd Serie.
But now back to the conversion kit from Jam Screw. In my opinion, the instructions leave no open questions as to where which part is to be attached. The original photos in the are sufficient even if of course more photos will not hurt. I recommend the WalkAround by Luc Colin, which is dedicated to the 330 and contains 122 photos.
primeportal.net/hang..lin3/sea_king_mk.43/
Overall, the instructions are exemplary. I can hardly wait to hold the parts in my hand and finish my Mk43 with them. Very recommended.

I just put the calendar on the 24th. December. For 20 minutes I have been sitting at the living room table and unpacking the countless parts from the transparent box with the conversion kit for the Mk.43. It's unbelievable, because the parts don't end. Seeing the elements on photos or as views from the 3-D editor is one thing, but the miracles (that's what you actually have to call them!) holding in your hands is something completely different.
It's been a while since I've detailed the fuselage/hull. But now the memories come back: it is a great pleasure to see what a detailed depth Andreas and his team have realized. As an example the nose radom: there are two sizes of screw heads / rivets and on the outside the flange is also realized with screws. The rescue rafts have partly (it is true) a protruding edge on the support, on which the correct number of screws is shown. The upper radom is also a work of art in itself: the two different types of fasteners are absolutely finely reproduced including the reinforcement sheet / doubler between the base and the removable housing of the radar.
The set includes two winches, which have the typical „box boom" and are even completely printed with a hook. I hope/I pray that I did the right research and made the frame of round profiles in the right size. I find the many small antennas particularly valuable, which are absolutely filigree with screws in the right place/in the right execution.
Conclusion: it is the best conversion kit for a helicopter that I have ever seen and which in my eyes is hard to beat. The price is absolutely justified and if you don't have it yet, grab it!
Very recommended
P.S. I'm looking forward to take the project up again tomorrow🙂🙂

Today the package arrived from Spain with the engine for my current project (NA-16, X-2080)
The very first T-6 Texan (NA-16 prototype X-2080) | Album by Yellowwing (1:48).
There are two variants of the R-975 Whirlwind at Dekno: with one and with two exhaust pipes. And there we are already at the special features of this engine, because I ordered both types.
At first glance, you might think that the Whirlwind is similar to the Pratt & Whitney R - 985. Unfortunately far from it. The shape of the cylinders is very specific to this Wright engine, as with many Wright engines, and significantly different from Pratt & Whitney cylinders. For example, Whirlwind has the exhaust system on the front. Only the left cylinder head has ribs, but the right one does not (seen from the front).
In contrast to the R - 985, the ignition system is also at the rear. Summa summarum so both engines are not interchangeable. Dekno has done all the work at this point and implemented everything very accurately, the parts look very well printed.
I particularly like the intake system on the rear side. I hardly believe that you can top the quality.
The packaging is also stable and instruction clear.
Very highly recommended.

Three years ago I already built a model of the MH-53 and because of the dimension of the project I will definitely not build a second helicopter of this type. Is this a reason to do without the extraordinary rotor head from ResKit? A clear no! I have enough space for this in my aviation museum.🙂

I really like the Catalina, but unfortunately I won't build the model in 1:48 because I just don't have room for the finished model 🙁. Should I therefore do without this extraordinary set? A clear no! 🙂
It definitely has room in my aircraft museum.
It is a masterpiece of 3-D design and magnificently implemented in 3-D printing. The depth of the details is incredible. On the outside the rivets are very finely represented, and in some places in two rows as in the original. Even the two screws on the pipe shoves (exhaust system and intake system) are present on the cuffs!
They are the best radial engines I have seen in my life. The ignition cables, two pieces per cylinder, go away from the ignition ring to the individual cylinders in the correct pattern or at the right places. Between the two cables of a cylinder, a bracket is modeled approximately in the middle of the path, just like in the original.
All oil circulation lines are present between the cylinders.
On the back of the attachments are all hydraulic lines, hoses and electrical lines.
I could write here two A 4 pages about the detailing and add a link to my album Luftfahrtmuseum.
Very highly recommended.

Today I have the opportunity to hold the new version of the MRH in my hands for the first time. My construction of the Japanese MH-53 was a few years ago, but I can remember the details well. At that time I had the earlier variant of the MRH, which did not contain hydraulic lines.
The difference between the two versions is gigantic! A masterpiece in 3-D construction.
I hold the parts in my hands and don't want to believe what I see (I know what I'm talking about because I've laid most of the hydraulic lines (cooper wires) and know them by name and surname🙂🙂 ).
The big challenge, however, will be to release the individual very well packaged and secured parts. It's a job for a good morning. So you should take a lot of time with it.
Very highly recommended.

Sehr empfehlenswert. 🙂
Wasn’t it time for TUI to finally not complain again? It’s the same here!
Here, too, DF HeloStuff has once again surpassed itself. Excellent quality and details compared to the original. For my first Mk.41 it was too late, but I used the seat with a slight modification (cut off the protruding ears of the seat cushion at the bottom and made the headrest from one) for the Mk.43. Highly recommended. 🙂

I've always been curious. Therefore, I was curious on the comparison between the MRH of JS and Reskit.
The parts are printed in a very stable cages, which provides good protection during transport. It is important to take your time when separating the parts.
The absolute highlight is the printed hydraulic and electrical lines. Absolutely filigree and authentic. At first glance, it seems to be a challenge to keep the lines undamaged until the final assembly. In my case this was not a problem, as the material was not completely cured (very good). So everything could be processed very well.
All 5 different types of blade joints are designed correctly.
The division of the parts is slightly different than with JS. There are fewer number of parts, the assembly is easier and faster. However, this product does not offer the flexibility of JS, f.e. installing the blades with angle of attack (flight position).
I like the building instructions and the small sheet with the colored symbols for the individual joints very good.
The only suggestion for improvement is the connection flanges for the blades. The star-shaped flange with the ten screws is only half modeled.
The blade is very easy to attach, but you can immediately see the difference between the two half's of the star / flange: excellent detailed half of RK and the half of the kit without details.
Summa summarum: very highly recommended.

It was only a consistent step to adapt the existing set for the original version of the Seaking for the KWS version. New is the console, with the modernized controls for the new equipment (e.o. 2 Seasprite Antennas) and new upholstery with "ears".
Here, too, 3D decals in excellent quality are included for the consoles. Also with this set, the operating instructions are printed in color and leave no questions unanswered.
Highly recommended.
Since the edition is limited to 50 pieces, one should not hesitate: having is better than needing 🙂
