I scored some bicycle shift cable to have a go at making tow cables for my tanks. It's a little smaller than brake cable so I'll see how it works out.

So the shift cable has an inner and outer layer, RH twist and LH twist, respectively. The inner is 0.72mm diameter, and the outer is 1.1mm diameter.
