The Clear Doped Linen paint scheme consisted of a base coat of Citadel Bleached Bone (Ushabti Bone) paint. The recessed areas of the fabric between the stiffeners on the wings, vertical stabilizer and the fuselage were masked with 1/16 inch wide masking tape witt the end cut in a semicircle shape. Once the masking was applied I sprayed the top surfaces with a lighened shade of Citadel Bleached Bone (Ushabti Bone) and the undersides with a darkened shade of Citadel Bleached Bone (Ushabti Bone). Then the masking tape was removed, I found that the depressions stood out appropriately. Testors Model Master Gloss Acryl was used to prepare for the decals.

I opted to paint the rondels rather than using the decals. I used Citadel Khorne Red and Lightened Calgar Blue to match the other decals. Once applied, Testors Model Master Dull (Matt) Acryl wash applied to protect the decals.

To enable the propeller to turn and prevent it from breaking off during construction, I drilled holes the back of he propeller and the front of the cowling and glued 1/8 inch by 1/8 cylindrical N52 neoduim magnets. The propeller was painted with a light brown and medium brown paint to create a laminated look. I then washed the propeller with Citadel Sepia Wash to darken it and act as a filter. The canards and wing supports were painted similarly except the light brown color was used to paint wood grain effects. When I achieved the look I was going after on the propeller and other wood peices, I applied several coats of Testors Model Master Gloss Acryl.

The kit did not come with rigging or rigging instructions. I referenced photos from the National Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH to identify the rigging configuration. I used a 0.1 MM drill bit, 4lb test fishing line and extra thin superglue for the rigging. I used extra thick super glue to create turnbuckles in the rigging. The rigging was basecoated in Citadel Ironbreaker and then coated with Citadel Mithril Silver (Runefang Steel). Turnbuckles were painted with Citadel Burnished Gold (Auric Armour Gold).
