The other factor that went against the YF-23 was the decision not to go with vectored thrust like the YF-22. Apparently, it was one of the deciding factors in the USAF's decision to select the YF-22.

Too bad, 'cause the YF-23 is a much sexier looking a/c. Frankly, the F-22 is kind of boring!
