Hi folks, i wanted to spray a metallic color from MIG (Gold 198 ) and wanted to thin it down for my airbrush. Can i use the normal acrylic thinner or do i need a special one for this gold?

Okay i have tested it out with 2 gold colors. One the Vallejo Air color pure out of the bottle, and the second one the A.Mig thinned down with Tamiya. From what i can tell the thinned Mig color went really smooth through my airbrush, better than the Vallejo color - so that did work out just great.

But that was about it. The Vallejo color was still way more smooth on the finish while the Mig color was pretty rough. Both were sprayed at about 1,2 bar. So i guess the final result for that is an "ok" ?

Mig had the gold tone i was aiming for, but Vallejo just did a better job in the finish. Guess i'll have to polish Mig's gold to smooth it out.
