Not including some stuff I did as a kid, this is the first model I bought. I can't remember how but I was suddenly inspired to start scale modelling again. Anyway, bought the kit, and started it. At the time though my son was beginning to move around by himself, and we were in a little 2 bedroom apartment with nowhere to keep the kit, so it went onto a shelf, half completed and out of grabbing little fingers 😄. Took some years before I took it back down again and completed it. Used tamiya paints, with some spray cans for the base painting. Also used some tamiya acrylics in pots (oh little did I know!) to try to do some touch ups. Well all things considered, (and it WAS the first kit i've ever painted) it didn't end up looking too bad.

Hi hagakure, thanks to let us know this story. A lot of modelers went rhrough the same, starting as a child and regain the hobby after a long break (myself included). It would be nice to see some pics of your model 😉

Am planning to do so 🙂 I can only offer pics of the completed model now though, none taken during construction. And bear in mind this model I did without referencing any information on the internet haha, so there is no weathering etc. Will endeavour to put some pics up this week, will be grateful for any comments on what I can improve. If its possible to add some weathering (like rust stains, exhaust blackening or a depth wash) even after applying a sealing coat? I'm Steven by the way.
