Shelf space is my main reason for building 72nd scale too Sebastian. Having just about re-decorated the hobbyroom I found out just how much stuff is in there...
Tell me about it Jan 😉 SCM helps to keep track of things though. However when I check my stash here and see a medium range four digit number, I start thinking "perhaps I should build more than I buy?!" 😛
....and maybe I'll build even more 72nd scale in the process 😉

Thanks Mark 🙂 It's one of my older builds though...I hope I learned a little since then 😉
Very well done paintjob 👍
Thank u Rui S 🙂
Great outcome! Looks good!
Thank you Tim 👍 It's quiet surprising how much attention this almost 4 year old build gets 😉

Thanks Pierre 👍
That's awesome and I love the camo colours 👍
I intend to do a similar paint scheme with Zvezda's 1/48 scale kit
Thanks James! For the paint job I simply added a few drops of white to XF66 and XF63 respectively. The underside is XF23 with a good portion of clear blue (X23 I believe) to make the light blue look a bit more lively....so to say. I think it worked out pretty well imho. So no extra spending on "real" Soviet colours needed 😛
I am looking forward to your Yak mate 👍
cracking depiction of a Soviet icon!
Thank you Andy 👍 Indeed an icon and sadly one that's somewhat under-represented when it comes to scale modelling

Fantastic result mate... I am really thrilled by the look of that Camo-Bird Combination..
Most excellent result Sebastian, really convincing!
Thank you mates for the kind words & encouragement! I'm very happy that you all seem to like my idea of the Japanese swallow
Very nice job.
Thank you Clifford! Much appreciated mate 👍

Since I had my circle cutter out (for my japanese 'what if' Me 262) I decided to continue with this baby.
Count me in ... Great job so far 👍
And totally agree, the AK Xtreme Metal smells like hell 😄 I quickly discovered for myself (relatively new to the hobby) that the good things are usually the most poisonous ... (Enamel , laquer colors...)
Welcome Roland...und Danke! Für 'relatively new to the hobby' sind deine Bauten aber allererste Sahne, ganz besonders die Lackierung 👍
Well I usually get my buzz from Tamiya or Gunze paints 😛 AK's extreme metals takes that to a whole new level...however I still have an unused set of Alclad II sitting on my shelf simply because after taking a sniff I coundln't bring myself to spray that stuff....I know sounds silly

Added some better pictures....just for my own ego

Very cool livery, beautiful Toblerone Schmittchen !
Very cool indeed! Don't want to spoil the party but ... the wing crosses are too big and should not cover the aileron. I consider your solution however as a visual improvement 👍
A nice, clean build. Love it 👍
Thank you Tim, Hanno, Thomas and Sergej! Much appreciated
@Thomas: No worries, you are not spoiling the party I actually realized after two clear coats, that the wing markings look somewhat odd.... I checked in G.Hoch's book on the Swiss 109s and saw it.... In hindsight I should have masked and painted the markings myself. Sadly it was to late (= I was to lazy to change it). But that you Thomas for your support during this project!!! 👍

@ ilJ: Thank you very much mate! 👍
@ bughunter: Danke Dir!
Thanks Micky! ...the chipping was done with AK's water colour pencils. I basically just draw the scratches onto the paint job, before the first clear coat. I can recommend these penciles for this kind of work 👍
thanks for the tip
Thanks mate, much appreciated 👍

Another one "liberated" from the shelf of shame 🙂 Started this one more than two years ago....now I call it done!
Nice looking build Sebastian 👍 Did the stowage items come with the kit or did you add them yourself?
Thanks Jim! No, the stowage is a mix of Verlinden, Legend and god knows what..... I mostly wanted to "fill the tank with stuff" as the israelis used to do. Otherwise the vehicle looks a bit to clean for my tase.
Clean and realistic: you achieved a good balance!
Danke Neuling! 👍 Wenn ich das erreicht habe, bin ich zufrieden
Yeah it's a common problem with Tamiya armour kits (which is why I asked) plenty of assorted stowage bins but nothing to fill them with. It was the same with their Challenger 1 kit. Your additions look great and not over done. 👍
the weathering is really subtle. Looks fantastic!
Thanks Jim & Zach! Much appreciated 👍
Nice clean paintjob & model. Well done 👍
Thank you Rui S!

Following this rare and very interesting subject.
What a set of jaws! Is there a 1/72 decal available somewhere?
Hi Łukasz! Yes there is one in 1:72 as well
The Silver Stars (Armycast M&M ACD 72 018, 1:72)
Thanks, I have to have a look for it 🙂

Thanks Rui S! The 'stuff' in the back is only two lumps of resin from Darius Miniatures. Very nicely detailed, basically a drop fit for the Tamiya kit. The perfect AM set for modellers like me (=lazy ) Just a little paint, stick to the model and be done with it
But I was also speaking about the personal gear on the spare traks? Photo 9?
I know! The run off spare track links incl. all the personal gear (AND the bucket) is one piece of resin, a more or less solid cast.
Oh ok I see. Nice "lazy" set 😄
Very much so Rui S 😄
