That was a short period of preordering status... Michael I am envious of you. This aircraft has a very stylish shape when seen from the side. It looks very racey if youget what I mean. Post pictures of the sprues if you have some time to spare.

Eelco Gregoire
Pictures of the sprues are also to be seen @luckymodel.

Thanks Eelco! I saw them but they are not so good. Big parts of the sprues are out of focus. One thing I noticed is that the fuselage comes in three parts which may be a source of trouble. One nice feature is the stabs where the wings are to be inserted. Considering that the real aircraft had wing tip wheels as the Harrier, proper allignment of the wings is essential.

I did order this from Lucky Model, however I do not yet have it. It will be a little bit before it gets here... but it is released! I just added it to my stash since I have it on the way. :)

I will post pics when the kit arrives!

If this kit is as good as their Tu-2, we will have another winner here.

I think your best chance will be to order it directly from China.

Molding nice, rivets are there, not exaggerated but everybody has a different taste, so some will love it, some will hate. For me it doesn't make big difference. The instruction sheet is quite complex and full of errors. Paint codes and definitions are wrong. For example for matt white is given Gunze H1 which is glossy white. For Flat Gull Grey is given H11 and this is matt white not a grey. For Dark Grey they gave H308 which is a rather lighter grey. There are 2 different radomes, 3 different pitot versions, 2 different vertical stabilizers. There are 12 different plane illustrations in the back and you have to chose the radome/pitot/stabilizer combination by chosing one of the 12 planes. But all these 12 are prototypes, test planes or early planes. None of them is marked as late type. But all of hem show the late type armament placement. This is really confusing.
3. February 2017, 08:29
Soeren .
I would never trust the colors from a instruction. Bobcat (ex Xuntong) is not the first who made a mistake.
Hobby Boss is also really good in that.

Besides that the first kit reviews looks really promising and if it is as good as their Tu-2, we will have another great exotic kit here!

they're coming...currently using an iPhone for pictures, waiting on a proper camera. Not a lot to show anyway. I've got the engine nacelles mated to the wings, the fuselage and vertical stabilizer together, and mostly smoothed out. Still need to get the wings on, and rescribe the inevitable panel line damage. I'll try to get a couple of shots of the wings and fuselage uploaded...

4 more photos. Filling and priming the wings and nacelles, also final join work on the fuselage. This thing is fighting me every step of the way. I've been using Gunze filler, and I'm pretty taken by it. It seems to shrink less than Squadron or Bondo glazing putty, and much softer than Tamiya. Tamiya has it's place, but I find it difficult to work with due to it's hardness. All that's left to do now is rescribe the lost detail and join to the fuselage. Of note; the cockpit rear deck has been reworked to allow the canopy to be slid aft..though the kit canopy is molded as a single piece, it wasn't hard to separate. I had to fabricate a fairing that hasn't yet been installed, but it came from a vac canopy from a Yak-25, and should work according to the very few photos I've found. More coming, but looks like I'll be filling and sanding for a bit yet...NMF is in the future, so the under finish will have to be flawless.
5. February 2014, 04:21
Brad Bronov
Airframe is together and primed...time for the NMF. Not sure if I'm going to use Alclad or Hawkeye's polishing powders. I DO know I left my CO2 bottle open and have to get a refill before I can do anything else. That makes a good case for a compressor, but I really prefer the dryness of the CO2, plus the fact that it makes no noise at all....
30. May 2014, 01:41
Brad Bronov
Ack...finally done. Maybe not to the standard that I'd like, but I was honestly tired of looking at it. This also proves that an AModel kit can be built...but not without a significant amount of trauma. I should have primed and sanded once more to help out the NMF, but..again...I just wanted it off my bench. I'm not overly disappointed, though. It was a tough build and it fought me every step of the way. It looks good from a meter away in normal lighting, and that's gonna have to be good enough. Now....what next?
15. June 2014, 19:54
Burkhard D
Wow, if that's not a standard you like... it looks great! I dare to say that it is quite unlikely that we will see an Amodel Yak-28 built better than yours. Cheers!
