Hi! Take care, that canopy is 2-3mm too short. So you have to display it open. Have you ever worked with vacuform?
30. October 2019, 10:22
Leigh Gordon
Thanks for the advice. I have not worked with vacuform. The kit seems pretty hard to find anyway

HobbyBoss has a nice Embraer/Shorts Tucano. Nearly the same as the Texan. Much cheaper and way better to build. ;)

again a good idea, i have the same project with Ozmods kit...you have mexican decals ?
8. September 2017, 07:23
Alfredo Jurado
Yes, some generic and also actual decals for a Mexican Navy version.
Since I have the Aero 72 kit of a Pilatus PC-9, I must do some extra work to complete the Beechcraft Texan II, mainly the two strakes under the tail fin (not present in a PC-9), and all antennas, both front and rear.

Hi Nikos,

how was the build? Did you had the problem with the length of the canopy? A friend of mine had this problem and had to build the canopy open.
4. September 2015, 09:48
Nikos Zorotheos
I chose to close the canopy, knowing that it would be difficult. Precise cutting is the secret. Quite expensive kit and not the best quality. If you haven't bought it yet, I would suggest to wait for the Wolfpack kit (which has a clear plastic canopy).
4. September 2015, 20:17
Holger Kranich
No i have not bought it yet, but its on my wishlist. Wolfpack is making an upgrade for it? Then i will wait for it! :D Can i ask how many noseweight you needed?
5. September 2015, 04:22
Nikos Zorotheos
The Wolfpack will be a complete kit. About my T-6A , I put it on a pole (displaying it on air, with the landing gear retracted), so I didn't add any nosewight.

Hi Don, this is Rex, your "almost neighbor" to the south of you. What is your impression of this kit? Is this the best starting point so far for a 1/72 Texan II? Or, should I keep waiting to see if we will get one?
7. October 2014, 18:33
Don McIntyre
I think I'd wait, Rex. I'm not sure about subtle differences, but I believe the canopy is larger on the T-6 and I'm sure the Instrument Panels are vastly different (steam gauges vs glass cockpit depending on version). Don

Thanks for the info,,,,I will wait. I am okay with "pretty close" on some subjects,,,,,,,,,,but, then they really need to be pretty close. If you get my thinking. Rex

Rex
that looks like it will be a decent kit to build, I like resin, metal, etch and vac multi kits. Even if that is plastic parts as the main assembly, I still like the multi-media approach.
9. October 2014, 20:18
Don McIntyre
It is mainly plastic. It's a very hard plastic though, not at all what we're used to. If I can find it, I'll see if I can get some more pics. That was one of the first true multimedia kit's I bought way back when. lol

Signing off here now, you're much more likely to get a hold of me easier over on agape models. Take care.
