Thank you, though I did make one very serious mistake. I have the sides flipped so the sponsons are sitting too far back and too low. I tried to fix it, but when I tried to ply the side panels off, it felt like I was going to do some serious damage to it, so I just left it as is. It is going to be part of a diorama, so I will have some shrubs or something it is driving through to disguise it.
I did think there was something unusual about it, but couldn't put my finger on it. You'll have to invent a fake history about it being an ad hoc field modification – just like I've done in the past.
(I won't tell anyone - honest. )
