NOTE:

The 2016 boxing of this kit also has the pixelated and lower quality "Made in Portugal" Decals !
21. December 2016, 13:59
komoras Sorry, maybe I did not expressed myself correctly. The version of 64833 which is being packed/imported in 2016 from Germany, has the "Made in Portugal" decals. I will double check which year is printed on the decals, even better, I'll upload the photo. This is the 3rd time I get the "Made in Portugal" decals buying Revell kits where the online reviews have stated or showed a picture from a much better quality "Made in Italy" decals. Which I presume, are made by Cartograf and are as always, top quality!
All the kits were bought in Serbia and are imported directly from Germany via an official Revell distributor.

Aron Christian Aronsen You´ve got some great models! Excellent work. Can I ask, do you hand or airbrush, and what kind of paints do you use?
14. March 2015, 11:32
Ekki I do not have an airbrush as I live in a rather small flat where space is always an issue. Perhaps I have to move house. :) So yes, I am old-school hand brushing.
As for the paints, I use Revell, Humbrol, Model Master, Tamiya and Xtracolor, depending on the colours required by the respective model.
For the above, the main colours used were Model Master 1711 Olive Drab and Humbrol 63 Matt Sand.

Es-haq Khosravi Great job!
14. March 2015, 13:32
Aron Christian Aronsen It looks great! I also live in a small appartment, so I will also use old school handbrush :) Hope I can get as great results as you in the future :D
14. March 2015, 16:01
Ekki I don't think my efforts are that spectacular. But I like the results (mostly) and that's the most important thing. ;)
You don't build for other people but only for yourself and if, occasionally, you get the thumbs-up from other people then that's great and it encourages you to carry on.
14. March 2015, 21:25
Tim Heimer Not a bad job! Suggestion maybe? Have you ever tried using a regular pencil for door definition or for other areas? it has to have a sharp tip. Keep up the good work and enjoy!
15. March 2015, 04:20
Kerry COX If you are anything like me, I love looking at my own work for hours on end and it is just so satisfying to do so.

And seeing this sweet little bird here, No doubt you do the same thing, as this is a really nice and clean build.
Salute ! :)
15. March 2015, 04:38
Ekki @ Timoty: Thanks for the hint. I'll try it on the Black Hawk I am working on at the mo.
@ Kerry: I absolutely agree. Even though one sees and realises all the shortcomings of the old kits, one does look at them with pleasure thinking of the time one spent building and painting them.
@ both: Thanks for the compliments.

24. January 2015, 08:19
Richard Caudron Thanks Jeffrey. Yes, the result is pretty cool. and it was a real pleasure to install the electronic kit which fits perfectly the engine compartment of the helicopter. Quite impressive with the lights and flash on ...
24. January 2015, 09:34
Gordon Sørensen That looks excellent. I like how you have lights on the instrument panel, not just nav and strobe!
24. January 2015, 11:12
Paul Waggett I have one of these rare beasties in my stash : BK-117 Space Ship (Revell 8019, 1:32)

1:32 BK-117 Space Ship (Revell 8019)
24. January 2015, 12:13
Richard Caudron Don't know what Revell proposes in their 'electronic kit'. The electronic we use is provided by www.magicscalemodeling.com The light in the instrument panel is provided by one 5mm led cold white which lights 10 or 15 optical fiber. Magic's scale circuit drives 8 different channels, including optical fiber, strobe and anti-collision lights, and, of course, navigation lights
24. January 2015, 17:57
Paul Waggett Basically it consists of a 9 volt battery powering a small board which drives leds for the top of the tail, in the ends of both stabilizers on the tail boom, the landing light in the nose and a speaker behind the passenger compartment rear bulkhead.
24. January 2015, 21:09
Richard Caudron ok, crystal clear, Paul. I am wondering which leds are planned for the stabilizers as the horizontal part is in one piece and that the cables can not be build in. That is the main reason why I have used nano-leds : the cables are as tiny as an hair. So, Magic Scale Modeling drives the 8 different leds, but do not provide sounds. Do you plan to build it ?
25. January 2015, 06:47
Paul Waggett Richard, the kit I have dates back 25 years, to 1990. I have had a look at the instructions in some more detail and the build involves threading the cables down the inside of the tail boom and through the stabilizers. a small hole then had to be opened up in the vertical end plate to attach the LEDs.

The instructions call for a 9v battery to drive the installation, and due to space, the battery is shown external to the kit, with the wires feeding through the bottom of the aircraft. 25 years later, I'm sure a neater power supply could be used. And I'd probably not bother with the large speaker - I doubt it provides MP3 quality sound!

One day the kit may be built, but for now it sits in my stash, inner bags still sealed.
25. January 2015, 10:24
Richard Caudron In anyway, your Electronic kit is now a Collector item ... I plan to complete mine in the next few days. Keep you posted. Thanks for your posts.
25. January 2015, 19:33
Richard Caudron
Hi Paul, the Revell electronic kit is indeed a rarity. Can you detail the 'electronic' part of the kit ? Thanks in advance. Richard

Holger Kranich I build it many many years ago an i had no superglue, so the tail and skids wont stick at the model. i was really pissed off... Do you remember, there was a military-version with a 20mm gun, that was cool!
