An obviously old book - predates the surge of acrylic paint for example - but nonetheless got some very useful tips from it, even now in 2019: how paint is made up and hence importance of mixing; importance of not painting from the tin; many useful tips on masking, including producing own tape for curved sections, and plenty more. As a returning modeller after a 20 year gap was very useful indeed.

Hi timorvet. I seeyou haded this book to your library. Is it any good ? I'd loved to model wingnut wings models but i don't dare yet because i'm pretty new to modeling.

G'day Francis, thankyou for your message. I have to say the book itself is a very good guide to modeling certain kits from the WNW range, the biggest being the Gotha G IV, and this being Vol 1 hopefully hints at other volumes to come. It's not a complete guide to modeling their kits, but more a look at improving with hints and tips from other modelers within these pages. The images are superb and the text informative. I have five of their kits and the detail and engineering ensures that even an novice modeler should be able to produce a good result. But i have to say this book and the WNW web sight combined will inspire anyone to build one of their kits. Hope this helps you......cheers Geoff Young

Eine Antwort wäre nett.

Danke schon mal.

Hi Dave! I ordered it from Michigan Toy Soldier Company. As a member, I get 10% off and every now and again, they give an additional 10%. It is a very good series. I'll try to remember to bring it to the next meeting so you can have a peek at it.

What a blast from the past. Shep Paine and Verlinden were my modelling heroes when I was a kid. :)

Hehe, for me too! But I was a bit younger model by 5 years ;) In the nineties of the last century (hnghnghng time is running) I build a lot of Sherman tanks in scale 1/35. I've build many versions and used the Verlinden conversion sets. Basic kit Tamiyas M4A3 and Italeries M4A1 kits. I remember I had nearly finished an British Firefly when Dragon first released a injection molded kit of this version.

Just a tad. I've got both n' if you got the first one you don't really need this one but it's more modern n' better in that aspect.
