Trumpeter Westland Whirlwind

An enjoyable build of a subject that for some unknown reason I’ve always had a soft spot for.

A first for me this time was the use of paint masks from Montex for the roundels and squadron markings etc. They added quite a bit of time to the painting due to the need to allow each colour to dry well before adjusting the masks for the next colour but the process was easier than I expected and helped no doubt by the excellent tutorial on the Montex web site. I feel the end result was well worth the extra effort and, as usual, Vallejo acrylic paints were used throughout along with various AMMO and Humbrol weathering products.
