👍; but for my taste to "dirty" 😉

Thanks Thomas, I know what you mean re your "dirty" comment. There are a number a schools on this these days, and I have seen much debate over this 'new to me' art of pre-shading, oils and weathering. I recently completed an intentionally dirty scene with a Hellcat Tank Destroyer on a muddy track and was told is was not dirty enough! And when I look back at what I was building 12 to 18 moths ago, I was hardly weathering anything, but may be for a light bit of exhaust staining, my Spitfires were show room ready 😆
With this transporter and bulldozer, I wanted to portray them as 'combat hardened'. The environment, rightly or wrongly, I felt would be thick with smoke and soot from burning oil wells and this combo of transporter and bulldozer have had a tough time of it and may be are both on there way to the guys with the power washers for a bit of a clean. 😉
Archive photos I saw of vehicles of the time were either pristine or quite dirty. Some transporters I found were also either still camouflaged green and brown or hastily repainted in desert yellow, and in the latter example, would probably have looked dirty before even seeing action.
Beauty as always, will be in the eye of the beholder 😊

Album info

Last year I bought a bulldozer for a diorama but then never used it. When I say a bulldozer, it was Takom’s rather detailed M1070 & M1000 W/D9R Tank Transporter with Bulldozer. I made the latter and then put is back in the box which is where it has been for a good 12 months. At last I have finally finished it.
