Cat D68U Dozer
early 1950's

Recreate the 1950's D68U cable blade dozer I used to drive in the early 80's on a Top End NT cattle station. No specific kit available but using the closest I could find was a D7 of earlier vintage. Modifications to kit is to reroute cable alongside the engine at footplate level and top pulley at top of radiator, then to blade. Rope-start pilot (pony) motor was behind the engine on D68U, and may scratchbuild one but would need to extend the bonnet accordingly. Will use styrene, putty, brass tube and wire.
