Way to go - I just got back into the hobby after almost as long too. You obviously put a lot of work into making that old Revell model look decent. I did a similar thing by building a Revell B-25 with wheels up and swore I'll never do it again. They do a terrible job with the fit of those parts that were very obviously never designed to be built closed.
I hope you stick with building and look forward to seeing what you do with better models and maybe an airbrush! Good luck!

The prop looks extremely realistic in picture 27! 👍

Thanks guys - I'm having all sorts of fun! I've picked up an airbrush, and a workbench, plus a few more kits and supplies. I've also started that B-25 kit, it's moving right along but agreed it'll be the last of the Revell-Monogram 'classics' for a while.

Cool, it's actually not a terrible kit, aside from the raised panel lines. If it weren't for that I'd be tempted to do it again and see how much better I could do the second time. Just don't try and build it with the wheels up - those doors are a mess and nowhere close to the right size to fit closed. I had to use a lot of putty and it still didn't look great.
I highly recommend buying some pre-cut masks for the glass for that model. It'll save you a ton of time, sweat, and tears. I learned that the hard way. I don't think I'll ever build another model without them again.

Album info

With some extra time on my hands decided to try my hand on a hobby I hadn't participated in in close to 30 years.

While my skills are certainly mediocre, i had lots of fun trying all sorts of techniques that i never knew existed when I was a teenager.

This model includes my first attempts of:
Priming before painting;
Dry-brushing;
Thin Liquid Cement;
Oil washes;
Chipping/Weathering;
Spray painting (Testors Pearl Blue - not accurate, but beautiful);
Clear-parts glue;
Stretching sprue
