When they arrived at Etampes the Polish patrol had no allocated planes so they made do with what was available to maintain their alert potential. On May 23rd 1940, for want of anything else to do, Zumbach took Koolhoven FK58 no. 16 for a round trip to Chateaudun. Zumbach judged that the Dutch fighter seemed to be a first rate aircraft.
With Ms 406s arriving the FK58s were moved south to the DAT patrols of Clermont and Salon. This plane was crashed and abandoned on 27th May, with the Germans recovering it to the Lyon base. Picture in album.
