I picked the old and trusted Italeri kit for this version of early Panzer IV and I added the Zvezda tracks from their Panzer IV Ausf. G which is a top notch kit but not good for representing the exact version of the early G that I needed. The Italeri kit is perfect except the tracks that are obsolete and missing open guide horns.
The tank is one of the T4 (Panzer IV) and T3 (Panzer III) delivered by Germany in autumn 1942. The tanks were initially painted in khaki, but on the front they carried both the "Michael Cross" and german cross. In some photos the "Michael Cros" was represented in white paint. During the fights of Stalingrad and Bend of Don river, almost all the tanks have been lost.
