Cuajete Well done, Alex. Congrats!
Next time try to trim the silvering of the decal before placing it. You will get a better result ;)

Patrick Hagelstein Nice one! Welcome aboard!

Thomas Kirschbaum not bad! ; How long after did you build this model? My Models from the youth are looking noone so good as the new! this is total normal; you learn from kit to kit :)

Alex_1974 Thanks, Patrick!

Thomas: well, I don't remember exactly when I made that model, but it is at least 25 years ago. The first many years I didn't evolve my techniques that much. I didn't always have the patience to paint first, so many of my models from my youth were build, then painted. Mostly I build airplanes in 1/72, but I also build cars and trucks in 1/24-1/25.
I had a long break from making models, but started in 2014 and build all that I had left from my youth. Now I am "back in business", ready to learn more ????

Patrick Hagelstein Well, it's actually not a bad thing to paint after building. What I like to do is build (sub)assemblies that have to have the same color(s) and prepare those for painting. That way I can clean up any seam lines and don't have issues with glue not bonding to painted parts.
6. February at 15:46:22
Alex_1974 It might be a bad idea to paint after assembly. Especially if assembling the whole model. I have a few models with unpainted cockpits/interior.
Now I make subassemblies before painting parts, just like it should be...
6. February at 17:00:51
Patrick Hagelstein Exactly! building the cockpit as a subassembly and paint that up before closing the fuselage is a good example. When the whole airplane is built, then you can address any seam lines and paint the whole airplane. :)

Alex_1974 Then it sounds like I got it right:-D
Still working on the seam lines though...

Hi! I would like to know a little about the people in this community.
What are you building (genre - cars, planes, trucks, ships, tanks etc.), and in what scale?
How many models do you make per year?

I build mostly planes and helicopters in 1/72 and a few cars and trucks in 1/24-1/25.
My goal is to learn more, but still make at least 6 models per year - but I try to reach around 10 per year. 6 is just a goal, but I only build when I feel for it.
I have no intention to build exact copies of real models, but want to be allowed a certain degree of “artistic freedom” if I feel for it.

Alex_1974 Well. I build it like 25 years ago or so. It is not really worth showing :-/

Patrick Hagelstein Yes it is! :D

Alex_1974 Okay guys! I have uploaded some pictures of it on my wall. Hope you are able to see them ????
5. February at 11:50:26
Patrick Hagelstein Yes, we are! Doesn't matter how old a model is, just show us what you built or are building and other modelers will chime in and if needed help you with anything you need. That's the joy of this community. :) Welcome aboard!

Alex_1974 Sounds great. Glad to be part of this community. I am currently working on a few models, but they are almost finished, so I will post them soon, I hope :)

Patrick Hagelstein Bring them on! :)
