This is another entry in my long-running project to build an example and preferably a diorama depicting my Father's RAF service in WW2. He was trained as n Electrician and worked on many marks of Spitfire, Hurricane and Thunderbolt in his time with 81 Sqn in North Africa as part of Operation Torch and then with 5 Sqn in India and Burma to the end of the war.

This diorama depicts his during the middle part of 1943 during Operation Torch in Tunisia after 81 Sqn had been upgraded from Spitfire Vc Trop to Spitfire IX. At the time, the ground crew lived in tents in trenches as German air raids on the airbases was very frequent.

My Dad is the bloke standing next to the petrol engine powered Accumulator trolly with a fag in one hand a a cuppa in the other 🙂
